Sistar19 has finally returned with their long-awaited comeback “No More (Ma Boy)”. Sistar and Sistar19 disbanded in May of 2017 leaving fans wanting more ever since. In 2022, Sistar had a reunion performance in which they performed some fan favorites and popular songs from their time as a group. Now, in 2024, Sistar19 has come back with seemingly a more mature response to their infamous “Ma Boy”. In an interview with RollingStone, “We’re more mature now, so the song’s protagonists are, too,” Hyolyn theorizes. “We are all more sophisticated about handling the end of relationships than back then.” Laughing, Bora says, “He’s gone!” Motioning with her hands to indicate that he’s been flicked to the side, she adds, “He’s probably crying a lot somewhere.”
Review/Personal Thoughts –
No More (Ma Boy):
I really liked this song. This song in the beginning reminded me a lot of Alone from Sistar, but quickly changed moods and felt like a party song. I really liked the vocal isolation in the end and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Bora sing more confidently. I love hearing her rap, but I like that she felt more comfortable showcasing her singing voice. Hyolyn sounded amazing as usual and the song felt overall very powerful. The MV featured a western-style vibe with a saloon and cowboy hats. The women wore denim and there was a bar as well. This wasn’t the only concept, as we got to see a winter concept in there with fur outfits to pair. As usual, the girls wore their summer sheik and rocked their outfits perfectly. This sultry song was nothing short of amazing. Overall, I really enjoyed the song and the music video!
Saucy –
This song is easily my favorite out of the two. While, “No More (Ma Boy)” is more of a baddie concept, “Saucy” is such a fun, summery song. I thoroughly enjoy this song and listen to it quite often. I think it is safe to say this song is truly awesome. I think Hyolyn would agree as well, when I asked her favorite out of the two, she replied:

I could even include this song in this video I made of songs that sound similar (which are all good by the way. Perfect for the summer!).
Nonetheless, I highly recommend these songs and I’d like everyone to stream as much as possible. Let the summer queens know how appreciated they are and let them know how excited we are for the future of Sistar19 and hopefully Sistar, as well as their solo careers!
