KCON Dreamers performed live with Lee Taemin of SHINee on July 26, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena. Through a two-round audition process, dreamers had the amazing opportunity to get to perform ‘Move’ with Taemin at the M-Countdown stage. With over 100 people auditioning, the stakes were high, and through two cuts, about 40 dreamers were chosen by two of Taemin’s dancers to perform with them and Taemin that night in front of 20,000 people. 

My experience: 

This was truly a dream experience. I had fear of not being chosen and constant imposter syndrome when I heard my number called twice. I didn’t expect to be chosen (especially with Taemin’s dancers being the judges). The experience was very fun, as I quite enjoy the stage, and I didn’t expect to enjoy myself as much as I did (I expected to be more nervous). My fellow auditionees were all very kind and I never expected to be in a nontoxic audition environment (you’d be surprised how toxic auditions can be). 

When we were all chosen, we were escorted to our practice area, and we practiced MUCH of the day. We fortunately had two meal breaks and were able to energize ourselves (it was a VERY long day, but 1000% worth it). We had the chance to practice on stage twice at the arena, saw Taemin, and a couple of other idols backstage before rehearsing. Post our main stage rehearsal, there were some last-minute inclusions in the dance, and I was worried I’d mess up the timing, but it worked out in the end. 

All of the dancers and crew were very kind, and it was a very pleasant and surreal experience (especially seeing Taemin up close. It felt like a dream.). I truly hope to have an experience like this again! Let’s support Taemin in his latest comeback and continue to support him moving forward!
