Yes, you read that right. Ateez is coming back!

Intro + Release date

I’m just as surprised as you. Well…not really, due to the members being so secretive when Atiny’s was prying. But I have to say, I thought for sure they would rest a bit before the hefty schedule next year with the tour. But once again, they came with a surprise.

Spoiler alert: This is a casual conversational post that has some info on the album. As well as some fan thoughts. If you are not a fan of this style of writing, we do have other articles. I highly suggest them, they’re pretty good!

The 11th mini album is coming out next month. And I am so excited. It will be released November 15, 2024. Until then, this article will continue to get updates until the second one which will be the review.

Predictions & noticing’s:

I wonder about the concept for this album. The last one was the moments in our lives (more explanation and analysis in the review). SO, I’m have a lot of theories. And with Ateez…you know how deep the lore goes already. Looking at the album art…it looks like a sun dial…I’m not sure what to take with this. Now that we looked on our golden moments and moments in between…is it time for something else? No clue. But I’m excited. I will be jelly if they do add some songs to the tour setlist, but hey hopefully we’ll see it live one day.

I am wondering what the sound will be like. They have been spoiling us with no skip albums for a long time. And I am so happy to hear new sounds from them as well as the familiar sounds I am used to. So, I hope to get a mix of both. We’ll just have to wait for the track preview and livestream closer to the release. We know that the last one (Golden Hour: Part.1) was really good. I’ll try to keep the post to a minimum this time around because 3 was one too many.

They dropped the track list y’all. The album will be composed of 6 songs. ‘Ice On My Teeth’ is the title track. It goes like this (in order): ‘DEEP DIVE’, ‘Scene 1 : Value’, ‘Ice On My Teeth’, ‘Man on Fire’, ‘Selfish Waltz’, and ‘Enough’. I am very excited for the album. I think it will have hip hop, classical, alternative pop, and possibly rnb? I’m excited to see the performances and I’m curious to see what B-track will be performed.

Alright so now the Preview is here, and I will go through each one to see if they sound like the title. I listened to the three that was on insta, but I forgot them haha, so let’s listen together and see if they match the sound we have.

First listen of track Preview:

‘DEEP DIVE’- This one is laidback and has a rich beat. I feel like you can vibe to this song right away. I think there will be heavy beats after.

‘Scene 1 : Value’- This feels like a trap hip hop fusion, I definitely didn’t expect that. Catchy as well. It feels very confident and maybe a bit cocky. I love it.

‘Ice On My Teeth’- It feels to have hip hop as well as maybe a bit of a latin blend to it. And a bit of orchestra music as well. I wonder what it will be about. It feels like a song with a laidback mysterious vibe. I know that pre-chorus will play in my head a lot.

‘Man on Fire’- This one sounds like Dance Hall maybe inspired definitely dance and electronic. I wonder if there will be choreography for this. I can see this as a music video too.

‘Selfish Waltz’- This one has a fashion type sound like alternative pop and house blend. It sounds magical. Definitely was different than what I expected. I need a visualizer to this. It feels expensive. Like luxury. I am looking forward to this one!

‘Enough’- This one feels like it’s going to be inspiring. A bit of an alternative pop fusion to this one. I feel like we will be reflecting on this. Maybe shedding a few tears.

So, my ratings with the samples (previews) we have now is in this order: Selfish Waltz, Ice On My Teeth, DEEP DIVE, Scene 1: Value, Enough, Man on Fire.

Honestly, it’s hard to rate it on first listens. But I’m thinking that many of them will change. I think the Scene 1: Value will be short so that might change. I also think that all of them are good, but I am really looking forward to Selfish Waltz. As soon as I saw the title, I thought it would be classical based. Most of them are a lot different than expected. I for sure thought that a few would be hip-hop based, and they were. I really enjoy Ateez tapping into the hip-hop genre. I also noticed this mini album is more blending in terms of sound even though they have different sounds, it’s not as intense in contrast as expected.

So, except for some expected genre changes (like in tracks in the past), I think the album’s color will be very cohesive, but honestly, I am very excited for this. I’m wondering which will be the second song performed (if one). All of them I’m sure has the potential, but it’s up to what they want to deliver this time. Let’s see if my ratings will remain the same. last album it did and when I went back, I was shocked. I cannot wait to see if it’s like that this time.

Actual Preview Live!

This week has been really busy. My guess is they will perform ‘Ice on my Teeth’ and ‘Selfish Waltz’. I think sound wise it will work so well, and I just really want to see it seriously.

Though there is so many to see. I always want to see performances of them. I think that ‘Enough’ might not be performed since San did perform it already. So yeah.

They will definitely get 10 million views. Also he said this is his favorite comeback music video and song so far. I will definitely be looking forward to it. I heard some of enough during this preview. It sounds so inspirational.

Time to hear the previews!

Track 1: It feels very vibey. They said it’s their favorite part of the song. It sets the mood for the whole album. Hongoong’s second favorite rap on the album. It’s reliable when I wrote it. 

Track 2: 

It’s mysterious. It’s wasn’t much, but felt mysterious. Like a movie and I’m looking forward to it. Mingi wanted they are walking slowly into their late 20s so he wants to show the value of maturity and it reminded him of a museum and life of art directors. So I think they are the director of their music and their style.

They think they have a long way to go, but I hope they don’t feel too pressured.

Track 3: They skipped and saved for later. 2PM tomorrow Today it will be dropped! Diamond is the symbol for value. I love the repeative nature. Wooyoung drooled his toothpaste. It didn’t feel like their song because it felt new. Jongho was afraid he wasn’t going to do it right. Alot of them were scared about how it would sound with their groups. They recorded it multiple times, showing their dedication. Jongho and Wooyoung didn’t have to rerecord. So everyone challenged each other to show off. They watched the teasers. They said it’s like a movie, so I am very excited. 

Track 4: I like the build of the aggression. Moombahton genre. It was a voice Mingi wanted to express/It’s a strong song they said, and the genre is more passionate. The beat really hits your ears Mingi said. Driving was a suggestion. Drive safe and listen

Track 5: So we got the instrumental part. Now I’m more excited. Mingi also raps on this one . ANd I think it’s going to be really passionate. Hongjoong wrote it 3 years ago. They thought of a performance, so I hope they performed them. It sounds 

Track 6: Enough. They did say they wanted to play more, and the staff said no. Cries lol! They said they should pop champagne to it and do the song with a live band. It was a river, and it changed to ocean when Seonghwa suggested it. The song will comfort you. Take a breath. The live broke and all we have is translations. It came back on after some time. They know the choreography is good. They are confident about it. I they are going to show it to us. They showed us a spoiler to the choreo! I can’t wait.
