đŸŽ¶KPOP/MUSICđŸŽ¶UPDATE: V AND PARK HYO SHIN MAKE THE HOLIDAY HARMONIOUS WITH NEW JAZZ SINGLE, ’WINTER AHEAD’

The holiday season just got a little bit brighter thanks to V and Park Hyo Shin’s new single, ‘Winter Ahead’. This song is a very calming jazz number with all the toasty feels of the holidays by the fireplace (so contrary to the video). The male voices (V and Park Hyo Shin) are reminding the love interest that they’ll be with them through all the seasons:

“I’ll be with you

Until the spring runs by

And the summer starts to burn

And I’ll be with you

When autumn returns

Yes, when all the seasons turn”

They remind them that they’ll keep them safe and warm. It seems the male wants the same love and security in return in a way, “Don’t you want to say you’ll stay?.”

MV Reaction:

I really enjoyed the music video. I originally expected to see Park Hyo Shin in it, but he’s in the ‘Cinematic Still Ver.’, so it’s okay. I see a lot of theories on the overall meaning of the music video. I see V sculpting, then suddenly the creation comes to life. He seems to quite admire it and it seems he’s in love with her (the sculpture). He does all sorts of couple-like activities with her and then at some point everything seems to go wrong. A “dark” V comes and it seems the happy and party V is a creation just like his sculpture. It adds this layer of distorted reality. Like almost, “what is real?” I want to honestly know what the true meaning behind the elements of the video are. It was very interesting to watch!

Overall:

The song is very pretty, and through harmonious blend, V and Park Hyo Shin make an addicting Christmas song that is sure to play in homes across the world. Make sure to stream ‘Winter Ahead’ and look out for V’s next Christmas treat with Bing Crosby, ‘White Christmas’!
