‘Why do you love?’ Hong-Joong review

Let’s jump right in! But before that, you know what time it is! Quick Disclaimer: I am a ATINY as well as a music enthusiast. So, I will give my thoughts on this song with both of those elements mixed in. And with that, let’s jump in.

Analysis

The beat has such a nice groove to it. I really love how airy Hongjoong’s voice on the delivery of certain lines. It gives a mysterious flirty vibe to it. Though he is asking you “why do you love” the guy. It’s interesting. The hook is really good. I think his nasally tone when singing only made the song even more addicting. Especially in the pre-chorus to chorus. The instruments I hear most are guitar and drums. Maybe some bass? I’m not sure though. I love the echo and reverb elements in the song as well. The layering of vocals are nice too.

Hong-Joong also went live and showed us an old version of the song. The demo was just as good. I love the outline. You can see he had a clear vision from this alone. He does this with a lot of stuff (natural born leader). Like he wanted animation in the music video. He is a great planner. The whole music video had his visions in it. Even the beat felt more sensual. It’s the “repeated version” he said.

Atiny was funny as they said it was Hong-Joong being jealous. Even giving him the title of it being a Scorpio theme song. That was really funny.

An interesting thing about Hong-Joong is the way he organizes his music. I really enjoyed how he said he changed the song, and it wasn’t repetitive. Every part is different. I think it boils down to how each line is delivered as well. Because some parts are similar but differ a lot. And as a music enthusiast this makes me really excited to keep listening. You can’t get bored. It also makes it very fun to sing.

The whole song is really nice vibe. But my favorite part is the last bit starting at 1:45. Very strong ending. The beat comes back strongly. And he really did change the song up a lot. My favorite part of it is the ending. “I’m not crazy, you know me” is repeated so many times in my head. I go back to it a lot too.

Lyrically, this song is amazing. I would not want someone to apply these lyrics in real life though of course. But the possessive nature of the song really brings out that jealous feeling. I think it does it well. The way he delivers them is very innocent at the beginning. And as the song progresses he also gets more active. I have to mention how he did the ad-libs as well. Let’s take the second verse. It feels like his head is telling his heart to not think about it, but he gives up on that. Not being able to endure it. As this feeling grows the emotions of the song grows. It’s an addiction he can’t fight. At the end he tells you he’s waiting. He never changed. He’s just in love with you endlessly. It’s romantic. But don’t get your delulu up.

So, what do you think about the song? Overall, this song is so addicting. I really enjoy it. I think it’s an easy repeat as well. Support Hong-Joong as well as this song! You won’t regret it!
