ZEROBASEONE is back with a new single for their first Japanese EP, “PREZENT”, set to release on January 29th. The single is a pre-release track titled, “NOW OR NEVER”, with a music video themed around university students and love. The song is bright and is reminiscent of OST-style music. It evokes feelings of slight desperation and young love. The song seems to be about college romance and the loneliness of separating from the one you love. Although separated, it seems the gentleman still finds ways to keep the lover’s memory alive and constantly wants to show them how much he cares. Their memory and their being gives him comfort and guidance when he’s feeling down or lonely. It seems almost like the male is addicted to their “world” and vows to never let them go and to always run to them. Ultimately, for me, the song is very enjoyable and truly evokes the meaning through the vocals and instrumental. I find the song to be one I’m sure I will listen to a lot and am very excited for the rest of the EP later this month. If you haven’t already, definitely go ahead and watch the music video and perhaps even listen to their other pre-release, “Only One Story.” Look out for more from ZB1!
